SUMMER

WELCOME

Hi, thank you for logging on to my blog! I'm a retired studio furniture maker and wood turner. During my career I've had the privilege of becoming aware of some marvelous artists and experiencing what I call "sublime moments". I would like to share with you some of these moments by displaying the work of a few artists starting with June Selznick Drutz.

June Selznick Drutz February 1920 - March 2007 was a painter, print maker and teacher at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto Canada.
June developed three major series in her lifetime. These can be loosely described as the "Maidens" series, the "Walls" series and the"Interiors" series which was created last.
June has left a large body of work and will be remembered for her unique style and colour sense.

The next artist's work I would like to exhibit is that of Mark Thurman.
Mark is best known as an author/illustrator of children's books. Mark has been teaching first year figure anatomy in the animation program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario.
Mark's first love is figurative art which I will be showing.
